Instagram - @olgareznikova Twitter - https://twitter.com/ukrainianspace For business correspondence - [email protected] First thing which you should do after arrive to Ukraine - it’s exchange money to local currency of course. Official currency in Ukraine is hryvnia (UAH), and you can pay for things only in local currency. Make some money exchange in airport. Everybody think that in airport is very bad exchange rate and you should wait till you will come to city and exchange money. But it’s not totally true. Just when you get out of gate in KBP airport, you will see the first exchange office, and yes, pass it and go farther, to two bank offices. They has good exchange rate, so you can use them. Take preferably USD, EUR or GBP with you. You can find currency exchange almost everywhere, but at the same time most of exchange offices accept USD, EUR, GBP. If you have any other currency, try to exchange it in your country to one of those which I mentioned, an you will not have problem with exchanging them. Of course even if you are coming with the most rare currency to Ukraine, you still can exchange it in Exim bank (state export-import bank of Ukraine), but better not to have this headache. Don’t exchange big amount for one time. If you are going to pay for most of things by credit card, I suggest you to exchange 100$, and until you will not spend all, don’t exchange more. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Aviation Museum in Kiev: don't miss the visit!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co-OkDVk9zA -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

The #Grand Opening of the #Kiev #Central #Department #Store after four years of renovation takes place at December 3-4, 2016. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Leonid Karpenko, financial analyst, head of Univer Capital Investment Company: "Unfortunately, some actions the state has undertaken recently were not adequate to the situation, which caused the population mistrust in the Ukrainian banking system. So people began actively withdrawing money from banks. This has negative consequences both on the banking sphere and the real economy." 21 November 9. Wide of Pechersky market 10. Mid of meat stalls 11. Pan of meat on counter 12. Close-up of bacon 13. Pan from meat to customer 14. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Elena Stepanova, Kiev citizen, vox pop: "The prices have gone up by about 40 per cent. I do not buy anything here, at this pavilion, because it is too expensive. Life is hard now. Our government should think about that because I can say we (Ukraine) have come to a dead end." 15. Wide of market 16. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Nadezhda Polizhko, saleswoman at the market: "I want the situation to get better. But anyway, we will not start fighting, will not take up pitchforks. But we will believe that everything will get better in our country." 17. Wide of market STORYLINE: Lacking the large foreign currency reserves of China and Russia, more integrated into the world economy than some smaller countries, Ukraine is being hit harder than other former Soviet states by the global financial crisis. The economic downturn has already caused halts in production, unemployment and a rise in the price of goods. Jittery customers lined up this week to buy dollars at exchange offices across the capital, Kiev, some of which ran out of cash. The Ukrainian currency recently plunged against the dollar to a historic low amid a run on banks and a frantic rush to convert savings into US currency. The hryvna has lost nearly a quarter of its value in recent months. This week, the hryvna plummeted to 6.01 hryvna per US dollar in trading at Ukraine's currency exchange. One customer at a Kiev market, Elena Stepanova, complained that prices had gone up by 40 per cent. She said Ukraine had reached "a dead end". Ukraine is reeling from a drastic fall in global demand for steel, the engine of the national economy. Plants across the country are halting production, laying off workers and slashing salaries. The stock market went into a free fall and the banking sector was hit by a run on banks. According to financial analyst Leonid Karpenko, head of Univer Capital, recent "inadequate" government actions have caused mistrust in the country's banking system. Ukraine is pinning its hopes on a 16.5 (b) billion US dollars loan from the International Monetary Fund. Four years of robust economic growth left Kiev clogged with shiny imported automobiles and dotted with upscale fashion outlets. Real estate prices exceeded those of Rome for a time and the stock market gained an astonishing 130 percent in 2007. But today, experts agree, Ukraine is in for tough times. Ukraine - Update on Russian economy

T/I: 10:50:15 The first shockwaves of Russia's financial and political chaos began to rock the rest of the former Soviet Union late on Monday (7/9) when the Ukrainian National Bank effectively devalued the country's currency by 35 per cent. The airline's CEO and chairman is József Váradi, former CEO of Malév Hungarian Airlines. The company is registered in Pest County (Hungary)with operating subsidiaries in Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. Wizz Air Bulgaria was established in September 2005. In 2011, Wizz Air carried 11 million passengers (15% more than in 2010), including 4.2 million passengers on Polish routes (only 2% more than in 2010). Recently Wizz opened new bases in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. However, Poland is still the largest market for Wizz Air. On 4 October 2012, Wizz Air launched a new cabin bag policy to encourage customers to bring smaller baggage on-board following a successful month-long trial on the London Luton and Katowice route. This means that a smaller (42x32x25cm) cabin bag can be taken on board for free; larger cabin bags (56x45x25cm) would incur a fee varying between €10 or €30. In 2014, Wizz Air carried 15,8 million passengers (17% more than in 2013). Operations Wizz Air prefers to land at smaller or secondary airports to reduce costs and fees. The airline also has a buy on board service called Wizz Café and a shopping service called Wizz Boutique. Head office Wizz Air has its Headquarters in Building 221 of Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest. Wizz Air signed the lease agreement in October 2010 and moved there in June 2011. The airline occupies over 2,000 square metres (22,000 sq ft) of space in an office building refurbished after the airline's arrival. The facility, with open plan offices, houses about 150 employees. Previously, its head office was in the Airport Business Park C2 in Vecsés, close to the airport. Financial performance While attempting to hasten SkyEurope's demise in June 2009, Wizz Air claimed it had been "profitable for several years". However, as a private company it is not required to publish its financial accounts - annual reports are still available. In November 2009, it emerged that Wizz Air was significantly loss-making and had never made a profit while delaying the pay-back of €32 million of debt by five years. Losses since commencing operations total €78 million, which, in 2009, fueled suggestions that the airline would file for bankruptcy. Since then Wizz Air reported record profits in 2012, profits in 2013 and record profits in 2014.[23] Wizz Air has the second lowest CASK (cost per available seat km) among European airlines. According to the Hungarian weekly magazine Figyelő, Wizz Air ranks as the 42nd company in Hungary in revenues in 2010. Wizz Air posted sales of HUF165 billion in 2010, which was an increase of 22% compared to the previous year. On 25 February 2015 Wizz Air started trading on London Stock Exchange. Destinations Wizz Air operates from 20 bases as of March 2015, the latest addition to them being Tuzla Airport. Wizz Air started new services between Katowice and London Gatwick in 2008. In January 2008, flights started from Gdansk to Gothenburg, Bournemouth and Coventry. In summer 2008, Wizz Air restarted the summer only services from Katowice and Budapest to Girona, as well as a new weekly service to Girona from Gdańsk. Other summer services from Budapest are Heraklion, Corfu, Burgas and Varna, from Katowice to Crete-Heraklion and Burgas, Warsaw to Corfu and Burgas. They also restarted the three-times weekly service from London Luton to Burgas. On 2 October 2008, Wizz Air announced that a number of its Romania services would have increased frequency following an order for three Airbus A320 aircraft. In February 2012, Wizz Air announced that it would start flights from Debrecen International Airport to London, beginning 18 June 2012. On 11 September 2012, Wizz Air announced new routes to and from Tel Aviv, Israel. The Airbus A320 family consists of short- to medium-range, narrow-body, commercial passenger twin-engine jet airliners manufactured by Airbus. The family includes the A318, A319, A320 and A321, as well as the ACJ business jet. The A320s are also named A320ceo (current engine option) after the introduction of the A320neo.

EU, Ukrainian Leaders Meet in Kiev for Ukraine Issue

01:19
European Union (EU) officials and the Ukrainian president held talks to exchange views on issues of common concern in Kiev on Monday. During his talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk, Petro Poroshenko emphasized that Ukraine's political and economic reforms and the Ukrainian situation worsened by violence and conflicts. Poroshenko also voiced his confidence in Ukraine being a member of the EU as the country has borne more fruits in Constitution and judicial reforms and anti-corruption moves, as well as foreign investments since he took office in May 26, 2014. Poroshenko said Ukraine will fulfill the prerequisites needed to apply for the EU membership within five years. In response to Ukrainian president's remarks, Juncker said that he wished the Association Agreement signed by the EU and Ukraine will come into force at the beginning of next year and that the EU has planned to go on providing financial support to Ukraine after helping it calm down the domestic situation. The Association Agreement was signed by the EU and Ukraine in June of 2014. The implementation of the deal, which removes tariffs on around 90 percent of the goods traded between the two sides, was postponed by the EU last September. In response to Poroshenko's calling for more peacekeeping moves launched by the EU in eastern Ukraine, Tusk said it is out of the question as the EU has not discussed it yet. He added that about 1.8 billion euros will be provided to Ukraine and that 70 million euros will be offered to ensure the safety surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in which the Reactor 4 exploded on April 26, 1986. It has been the first EU-Ukraine summit held since a political and free trade association agreement was signed by Poroshenko's leadership. The last summit was held in February 2013. Russia says Savchenko exchange deal was not linked to Minsk accords

The handover of Nadiya Savchenko in return for two Russian prisoners who were flown back to Moscow was cast as a humanitarian gesture by Vladimir Putin. Moscow has strongly rejected any suggestion that the exchange was connected to the Minsk agreements. One of the key terms struck in the Belarusian capital was the release of all hostages and other illegally detained people.
