Today I have an Adobe InDesign tutorial video entitled a magazine layout in Adobe InDesign tutorial, a look at laying out a magazine document both for print and we use, in InDesign. I have a link below that shows my most recent magazine project that I worked on in InDesign which is also shown in the tutorial today. My method works for me where I design he artwork in Photoshop, and then transfer that over to Adobe InDesign, where I also add the text and logo files to prevent blurry printing solutions. So if you want to know how to layout a magazine in Adobe InDesign, watch my video today and I hope that the Adobe InDesign tutorial is a helpful one :) ***************** SUBSCRIBE TO SATORI GRAPHICS ***************** ➤➤ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoeJKtPJLoIBqWq4o8TDLpA Layout for web use: 1:13 Exporting magazine for web use: 3:48 Layout for print use: 4:50 Exporting magazine for print use: 9:19 Magazine link of the layout example in this Adobe InDesign tutorial: http://www.urbanr3volution.co.uk/magazine/issue-11-scorcher-edition/ Thanks to yet more suggestions from subscribers, we will be looking at using Adobe InDesign to both layout and export a magazine for print and web use. http://www.clutterdiet.com Get organized with home organizing tips from professional organizers at The Clutter Diet. Do you buy magazines and newspapers to read or to clip? Do you scour articles and ads for just the perfect thing to send to a loved one who needs your guidance? Do your friends and family call you Edward Scissorhands? In today's video Lorie Marrero talks about clipping and saving those articles. She gives you strategies for sending and saving clippings. Following this advice will clear your clippings and make them easily accessible. Because after all, if you can't find an article or picture you have clipped, it's not going to be useful to you. These Clutter Video Tips are posted frequently here on our clutterdiet organizing channel. You can search Twitter for #ClutterVideoTip also to find comments on our organizing tips. Lorie Marrero is the creator of ClutterDiet.com and the author of The Clutter Diet: The Skinny on Organizing Your Home and Taking Control of Your Life. Lorie also serves as the national spokesperson for Goodwill Industries International and ambassador of the Donate Movement. Transcript: Hi, I'm Lorie Marrero and today's Clutter Video Tip is about clipping articles. I've worked with a lot of people who enjoy clipping articles from newspapers and magazines both for their own use and [POP] also to share with someone else. So I'm going to ask you a few questions today about your clipping habits to help you do that a little more efficiently. First, if you are sharing clippings with other people, I'd like you to ask yourself this: Does the other person truly want this information? You know, we all have a lot of information coming at us nowadays through e-mail and all the different means and you've got to remember that you're putting something on the other person's plate. So make sure it's really worth their time before you send it. And ideally if you can send it electronically versus in the mail with a piece of paper, that's going to be preferred by most people as well. So that leads me to my second question: Can I keep this electronically? So if you're going to keep it for yourself, you really might want to find a way to capture that information. A lot of times if I'm reading a magazine and I find an article I like, I'll go to that magazine's website on-line and try to find that article there. A lot of times it's there and I can capture it either through saving it to PDF [POP], which you can use special software for that, or I can save it in Evernote, which allows me to keyword [POP] that article and that way I can search and I can find it more easily when I want it. Another way you can save things electronically is to clip the article and then scan it in. So having a good scanner is becoming more and more important nowadays. So the other question I would like to ask you is: Will I be able to find this later? So if you've scanned it or kept it electronically, chances are you can, but if you're keeping the article in its physical form there are a few ways I want to suggest that you create a system for yourself; otherwise, if you can't find that information, it really is of no value to you. So here are a few things you can do. First, if you have a project or just home ideas, home décor, home decorating and renovation ideas -- maybe you're planning an event, like a wedding or something -- you can use an accordion folder to keep clippings. Here I have one -- and you can see the categories that I've designated here -- this is for home décor ideas. And sometimes magazine clippings are just simply the best way to capture those with the photographs that they have. A second thing you can do is keep clippings in a binder. This is an example from a previous video of our guest binder and I clip articles from local magazines about what to do in our city and [POP] nice restaurant ideas. So that's another way to do it, as well as recipes; that's another common clipping item. We have another video about recipe binders that you can keep your recipes in sheet protectors or other photos sleeves. Thirdly, you can do a filing system, just a traditional filing system, and do that by subject on the [POP] clipping articles that you find most often are coming up for you. So whatever your hobbies are, or other subjects, you can simply file them away and that way you can find them when you want them. Are you having trouble managing your clipaholic tendencies? If you need some help with this, we can help you with a personalized filing system that we can help you create in our Member Message Board area where our experts consult with you seven days a week and it is about the price of a pizza. So it's a really great option. You can find out more at clutterdiet.com/learnmore. See you next time, and may you always be happy and grateful for having more than enough.
