Warren Buffett’s Essential Advice for Stock Investors (3 Key Principles)
Warren Buffett's most important investing advice is essential for all stock investors. In this video, we discuss Buffett's 3 rules for long term investment success and how you can apply them to your own portfolio. Subscribe here for more content: http://bit.ly/SubscribeMichaelJay ➤➤ VALUE INVESTING ACADEMY My investing education platform for new and experienced investors Learn more here: http://bit.ly/ValueInvestingAcademy ➤➤ JOIN MY DISCORD Private Discord Link: http://bit.ly/PrivateDiscord (Requires sign-up to free email list) In 1995, Warren Buffett shared his 3 most important investing principles during the Q&A session of Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting. In this clip, Warren Buffett was asked about how he estimates the intrinsic value of stocks and how that compares to the intrinsic value calculated by his mentor, Benjamin Graham. In classic Buffett fashion, he provides clear and timeless advice to investors that we can still use and apply today. Note that Buffett and Benjamin Graham, had developed distinct styles of value investing that affected how they valued stocks. Buffett places little to no consideration on book value of a company when evaluating whether or not to invest. Graham on the other hand focused almost exclusively on using a variation of book value to evaluate stocks, called “net-net” value. Both men found tremendous success in their lifetimes. Buffett acknowledges that there can be differences in the exact valuation technique, but the following three key principles should be applicable to every investor seeking long term investment success. Warren Buffett's FIRST key principle is your attitude towards the stock market. This is covered in detail in chapter 8 of the Intelligent Investor. It should be clear to investors that you must be comfortable with the fact that the market will swing over the course of time. Swings may be as high as 50% increases from an stock’s lowest price and 33% decreases of the stock’s highest price at various points over the next five years. Those stock quotations are there to be taken advantage of by investors, not the other way around. Below is one paragraph from that chapter which was highlighted by the editor as likely one of the most important passages in the entire book: The true investor is scarcely ever forced to sell his shares, and all other times he is free to disregard the current price quotation. He need pay attention to it and act upon it only to the extent that suits his book, and no more. Thus the investor who permits himself to be stampeded or unduly worried by unjustified market declines in his holdings is perversely transforming his basic advantage into a basic disadvantage. That man would be better off if his stocks had no quotation at all, for he would then be spared the mental anguish caused him by other persons' mistakes of judgment. – Benjamin Graham, Chapter 8 of The Intelligent Investor Warren Buffett's SECOND key principle is to invest with a margin of safety. This introduces the concept of intrinsic value. Intrinsic value refers to the value of a company or stock determined through fundamental analysis without reference to its market price. Understand that a stock’s price and a stock’s value are two different things, and that they don’t always align. Investing with a margin of safety means buying a stock only when it is trading below your estimate of its true intrinsic value. The larger the margin of safety, the lower the risk and higher potential for future returns. Warren Buffett's THIRD key principle is to look at stocks as businesses. This is a long term perspective that is less focused on short term stock prices and more on long term business prospects and performance. Buffett constantly will ask questions on a company’s business risk. Is the company capitalized in a way that puts the company at risk to creditors? Is the management team strong and aligned with shareholder interests? Does the company have a lasting competitive advantage or economic moat that protects it from competition? You will do better as an investor and think more about a business before investing in it or selling it off. Our ego wounded self learned to tune into what others were feeling in the hopes of having control over feeling safe. Where you put your focus depends upon on what you believe makes you feel happy and safe. If you believe that your happiness and safety come from others liking you, connecting with you, approving of you, loving you, or spending time with you, then your focus is likely to be on others. If you believe that your happiness and safety come from connecting with yourself and with your higher guidance, and from approving of yourself, defining your own worth, spending time with yourself, taking loving action for yourself, and sharing your love and caring with others, then your focus is likely to be within. In other words, if you believe your happiness and safety come from getting love, your focus will be on others. If you believe your happiness and safety come from being loving with yourself and others, your focus will be within. Lesson 2 - Pair characteristics (the majors and the crosses)
Understanding Forex Pairs Forex pairs are divided into two broad categories. There are the majors that include the most frequently traded and most liquid currency pairs and the crosses. The majors all include the USD as either the base or quote currency. The cross currency pairs do not include the dollar because they "cross" two other currencies with each other. The Majors The most actively traded currency pairs are the majors. These are all crossed with the USD and make up the majority of annual trading volume in the forex market. For example, according to the Bank for International Settlements the EUR/USD makes 27% of all forex trading alone. If you combined the trading volume of the EUR/USD with the GBP/USD and the USD/JPY you would have captured 52% of annual trading volume. Most traders start their forex career by becoming familiar with the most popular majors before beginning to trade the crosses or smaller major pairs.

Basics of the Bid, the Ask, and the Bid-Ask Spread in Stock Trading
If you want to purchase shares right away, you are going to have to pay the asking price. Similarly, if you want to sell shares right away, you have to pay the bidding price. Bid: -What people are looking to get the order at -If you want to purchase 100 shares of Nike, you might bid $50.90, but the ask is $50.98 -In order to get that order, you need to pay $50.98 Ask -What people are looking to get for the stock Bid-Ask Spread -It is the difference between the bid and the ask -What the market makers have to make -i.e. $50.98-$50.90 = $0.08 -$0.08 is what the market makers get paid to execute that order -As soon as you purchase the stock you lose $0.08 per share -You can't buy and sell immediately because it will be costly -You need to take the bid-ask spread into account when trading ★ SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE: ★ http://bit.ly/addtradersfly ★ ABOUT TRADERSFLY ★ TradersFly is a place where I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience about the stock market, trading, and investing. Why Investing Guru Phil Fisher Says You Should NOT "Buy Low, Sell High"
People love pithy advice and simple slogans. If you can boil an idea down to less than a handful of catchy words, you have a much better chance of making it sound plausible, wise, and right. So the investing cliche of “buy low, sell high” has become something of a mantra. But it’s not actually all that useful of one. Far better for your returns is the strategy David Gardner has often suggested, which involves buying excellence and holding it. And as he notes in this segment of the Rule Breaker Investing “Great Quotes” episode, he was hardly the first to elaborate on that type of method. Phil Fisher, author of the great investing book Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits did it back in the 1950s. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe to The Motley Fool's YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/TheMotleyFool Or, follow our Google+ page: https://plus.google.com/+MotleyFool/posts Inside The Motley Fool: Check out our Culture Blog! http://culture.fool.com Join our Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/themotleyfool Follow The Motley Fool on Twitter: https://twitter.com/themotleyfool

It is high time that it is put in practice everywhere. 🔯 Our policy is to encourage investment and promote freedom for industry to innovate. 🔯 I expect Europe's top-level domain, .eu, to become similarly as important as dot-com. 🔯 It's unacceptable that consumers are punished on their telephone bill simply for crossing a border. 🔯 The decision on the right balance between competition and investment can no longer be solely a national issue. 🔯 If we use our policy instruments wisely with regard to broadband, we can do some very practical things to make 'growth and jobs' a reality in the less-developed and rural regions of Europe, too. 🔯 It is high time that the E.U.'s internal market delivered substantially lower communications charges for consumers and business people traveling abroad. A mobile-phone customer should not be charged a higher tariff just because he -- or she -- is traveling abroad. 🔯 If the EU and its 25 member states make a clever use of all policy instruments, broadband for all Europeans is certainly not out of reach by 2010. ⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓ 🖎 Author: Viviane Reding ♛ Career: Politician 📅 Life: b. Why Investors Shouldn't Be Scared of the Next Bear Market
Depending on your age and context, the word "bear" can carry a whole lot of different meanings. Ask a kid, and they'll probably have a favorite bear -- stuffed, of course. Some of us might think of polar bears and how they're suffering due to climate change, while hunters and nature lovers alike might both think of them as frankly awesome predators, best witnessed from a distance. And then there are the classicists, who, like David Gardner, might harken back to Shakespeare, and not a line of dialogue, but perhaps his most famous stage direction. Did the Bard bring a real bear on stage at the Globe Theater? Nobody knows. In this Rule Breaker Investing "Great Quotes" podcast, Motley Fool co-founder David Gardner jumps from those dramatic bears to financially traumatic bears, and how smart investors should respond to them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe to The Motley Fool's YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/TheMotleyFool Or, follow our Google+ page: https://plus.google.com/+MotleyFool/posts Inside The Motley Fool: Check out our Culture Blog! http://culture.fool.com Join our Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/themotleyfool Follow The Motley Fool on Twitter: https://twitter.com/themotleyfool

Tony Robbins: Simple Investing Tips
Tony Robbins is one of the most easily recognizable life coaches in the world. He's made a living getting people to get out their seats and get their lives moving in the right direction by helping them tackle their obstacles and address their failures. In his latest book, "Money: Master the Game," Robbins asked some of the biggest names in business --including Warren Buffett, Carl Icahn and Steve Forbes -- for the keys to financial freedom. Robbins dropped by Fox 5 to share some of those secrets, which are simpler than you might think. For starters, Robbins says, you have to know what things really cost you. Robbins says 401(k) fees are eating away at most people's hard-earned money. He gives a frightening example: If you have $100,000 and you're 35 years old and you put that money in the market at 8 percent, by age 65, if you paid 1 percent in fees, you'd have $761,000. If you paid 3 percent in fees, that same investment would total $432,000. You've lost hundreds of thousands of dollars just in fees. Robbins has partnered with America's Best 401K. The website www.showmethefees.com helps people figure out what they're paying and what their options are. Another secret: Robbins says people don't realize that you don't get rich by making a lot of money. The way to get money? Robbins says put money to work as YOUR slave and stop being the slave to money. The way to do that is COMPOUNDING. Another Robbins example: give up a night out a week and instead stay home with pizza and a beer. Take that $50 and invest it. If you invested $50 a week for the entire year, earning 10 percent over 30 years, would turn into half a million dollars. Don't have any money invested yet? Robbins has two words of advice: get started. --ALISON MORRIS

The Art of SMART Money Investing 101 Part 4 - Knowing Yourself and Your Goals
http://artofsmartmoney.com http://artofthinkingsmart.com So now that you’ve learned about investment types and basic investing principles in the previous videos, you’re probably wondering about what investments you should own. Well, the short answer is that it depends. There’s a famous Greek quote that states “Know Thyself.” Investors should keep this in mind since investing success depends on choosing an investment strategy that fits your needs, personality, and objectives. Although all investors are trying to be successful, each one has different circumstances, goals, and needs. Given that, there are no strategies or investments that are suitable for everyone.

How to Pick the Right Solar Quote
https://www.energysage.com/ Your solar panel system will be around for a long time, so you want to ensure you’re making the right choice when it comes to picking the best solar quote for your home or business. First, compare prices and savings. As you’re deciding between your solar quotes, evaluate your upfront costs, estimated savings, incentives provided, and what each installer is charging on a cost per watt basis. Remember, you shouldn’t necessarily go with the least expensive option. Pick a quote that provides the right system and level of service for a fair price. Second, compare equipment options. Solar quotes will include equipment that varies in price, quality, and manufacturer. Find solar equipment that’s the best combination of quality and price, and will produce the right amount of power for your needs. Make sure the equipment manufacturer is offering a sufficient warranty as well. Third, think about how you’ll pay for your system. You can pay with cash upfront, or finance your installation with a solar loan or lease. There are lots of financing options available when it comes to solar, so it’s important you find one with the terms that make the most sense your budget. Finally, compare local installers. You should select a solar quote from an installer with a good reputation, lots of local experience, a solid warranty, and who’s been responsive to your questions and requests. The goods news is that the EnergySage Solar Marketplace does all the hard work for you! You can easily receive and compare multiple solar quotes in a standardized, apples-to-apples format, so that you can make the best decision for your solar investment. From Homeless to Millionaire - 3 Success Lessons from Chris Gardner
* Join my BELIEVE newsletter: http://www.evancarmichael.com/newsletter/ My name is Evan Carmichael and I believe that the fastest and most effective way to build a business is to model the strategies of people who have already done what you're trying to do. I call it Modeling the Masters. Today we're going to look at how a high school dropout and homeless man would go from living on the streets and bathing in public restrooms to building one of the most successful stock brokerage firms in America. This is the story of multi-millionaire Chris Gardner and the top 3 lessons that you can learn from his success. "Find something that you love. Something that gets you so excited you can't wait to get out of bed in the morning. Forget about money. Be happy." - Chris Gardner Chris Gardner (born on February 9, 1954) was the only son of 12 children that was being raised by a single mother. His single mother was trained as a schoolteacher, but wound up taking on numerous part-time jobs in order to provide for her family. Gardner and his siblings were transferred back and forth between relatives and foster homes. His mother had been imprisoned twice; once, for allegedly receiving welfare while working, and the second time for attempting to burn down the house of Gardner's abusive stepfather. Gardner's prospects were narrow coming from an environment such as this. While on a sales call, Gardner met a man who was impeccably dressed and drove a red Ferrari. As fate would have it, the driver of the Ferrari was a stockbroker. When Gardner heard that the man was earning over $80,000 a month, he decided that his future lied in investments. He had no education, no experience, and no connections, but that was not about to stop Gardner from achieving his new dream. Once he had decided to become a stockbroker, Gardner immediately set out to find an investment firm that would give him a chance. In one brokerage firm, Gardner finally found a manager of a training program who was willing to give him a shot. However, when Gardner showed up for his first day of work, the manager who had hired him had been fired and no one else had ever heard of Gardner or his new position. He left with his hopes disappointed. Action Item #1: Get Excited About Something Action Item #2: Be the Best You Can Be Action Item #3: Remember Your Roots Quotes "Baby steps count, as long as you are going forward. You add them all up, and one day you look back and you'll be surprised at where you might get to." "That's when I learned in this business, it's not a black thing, it's not a white thing, it's a green thing. If you can make me money, I don't care what color you are. So that's how I deal with that to this day." "I was Chris Gardner, father of a son who deserved better than what my daddy could do for me, son of Betty Jean Gardner who said that if I wanted to win I could win." What Do You Think? Do you get excited about going to work? Are you working to be the best you can at your profession? Do you remember where you came from and give back?
