Question: How Do I Learn Exchange For Small Businesses?

04:49
I am at a point now where I would like to start my own business as a consultant. There are a few things however I feel I need to learn first before I move out on my own. One thing I need to learn is Microsoft exchange because lot of small businesses use it. I seem to respond very well to your teaching style, and I am wondering if you have any videos on Exchange. To be honest with you I don’t even know what benefits a small business would gain from using it. It seems like a simple technology, I just have absolutely zero experience with it. -Stephen W. ********** To Ask Questions Email: [email protected] Signup for our email list at: http://www.elithecomputerguy.com/email-signup/ (#Microstopped... Exchange and Office 365 Mail Contact Import using PowerShell

13:42
Automates bulk import of mail contacts into Exchange and Office 365 / Exchange Online from a CSV file using a PowerShell script. Provides a PowerShell-based tool to import (and later remove if needed) mail contacts into Exchange server or Exchange Online/Office 365 from a properly-formatted CSV file. Leverages automatic Exchange discovery to minimize configuration and software requirements. While there are a number of scripts available that perform a similar import function, they often require extra inputs and are confusing to use. The aim here is to remove as much of the friction as possible. Simply drop the solution files onto an up-to-date Windows 7/8/2008 R2/2012+ machine, and you should be able to run the script right away. This script creates mail contacts in Exchange (which are really objects in the associated Active Directory domain) from records in a comma-separated values (CSV) format. Configuring Microsoft Exchange

05:25
Pre-Installation Checklist Make sure you have all of the following steps in place before you setup Exchange Server 2003. For simplicity we are assuming you are setting up a small office where one machine will be used for both the Active Directory and the Exchange Server. This setup works just fine and reduces the number of machines to maintain. If you have a larger office you may want to consider separating the Active Directory machine and the Exchange 2003 Server. When you install IIS, you should select the typical install that includes an SMTP component. Make sure your networking has DNS setup. If you use DHCP, the DNS setting should be set, if you do not use DHCP then make sure that you have entered your DNS server names. Exchange Server will use your DNS settings when it sends e-mail to the Internet. When it asks for your full DNS name - enter the name of your domain that you have registered. This would be the name to the right of the "@" for your email address, such as "YourCompany.com" Accept the Netbios equivalent of your domain in our case "YourCompany" Select the locations you want to store the databases Accept the location of the system folder On the permissions screen select what is appropriate for your network; if all machines are Windows 2003, then select the only Windows 2003 permissions. Otherwise use the default for compatibility. Create a password to administer the directory. Review your configuration and accept by pressing Next. After pressing next - the Active Directory configuration wizard will spend several minutes creating the directory for you. When it is complete press finish and reboot the computer. Running Exchange hybrid over the long term

01:01:18
When you connect on-premises Microsoft Exchange Server to Exchange Online through a hybrid environment, are you creating a short-lived bridge to migrate to the cloud? Or will this hybrid live on indefinitely, waiting for internal and external policy to support a cloud-only reality? Either way, make sure you catch this session to learn best practices of running a hybrid Exchange environment. Topics addressed include: maintaining hybrid across patching cycles and upgrades; accommodating changes to network models; adapting during acquisitions and mergers; and more.

Migrating to Exchange Online via Hybrid – over the long haul

01:13:10
If you’re considering migrating to Microsoft Exchange Online, planning a migration, or have a migration in progress, you’re probably interested in Hybrid Exchange. Organizations that connect on-premises Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure to Exchange Online through a hybrid environment sometimes view it as a short-term bridge to the cloud. Others see hybrid as existing indefinitely, while policy and regulations slowly adjust to a cloud reality. In the first part of this session, we’ll discuss Common Hybrid Migration Myths, Best Practices, and Troubleshooting techniques. https://www.microsoft.com/techsummit

01:50
https://integral-it.co.uk In 2020 some of the most commonly used Microsoft business software like windows 7 is coming to the end of life. That means it will no longer be supported by Microsoft. End of Life software causes big issues. If it breaks or if there are any problems with it, they won’t be fixed. It’s likely the software will be targeted by hackers. It is also against GDPR. One of the requirements of GDPR is that organizations supported by the right software. If your software is out of date there's no guarantee that your data will be safe. So after all of that time getting your business GDPR ready your business will no longer be GDPR-compliant. This is going to affect 1 in 3 businesses. That could include yours Here’s a list of the affected software: Support will be ending for this software. • Windows 7 • Office 2010 • Exchange 2010 • Small Business Server 2011 • Windows Server 2008 If your business is using any of this software, then you need to act quickly. 2020 seems like a long way away. But really, it’s not. And since upgrades can take months to properly implement, this is definitely not something you want to leave until the last minute. We call this The 2020 Problem. Question: Is Exchange Better than Google Apps if You Use Outlook?

09:58
You said email is email, no difference from whomever, but with the use of Outlook - Desktop app (most of our employees are using it and won't change it so quickly) is it not a difference when using Exchange, a Microsoft product together with Outlook also Microsoft product, is it not optimised for Outlook? Won't you get better performance in Outlook when using Exchange vs. Google? (In particular when having a ton of emails in the outlook file) Also, "EXCHANGE" has some kind of a reputation that this is the best email service existing on earth is this not correct? -J W ********** To Ask Questions Email: [email protected] Signup for our email list at: http://www.elithecomputerguy.com/email-signup/ (#Microstopped...
